About AMRC
The Advanced Motorcycle Riding Course offers two advanced classes:
1. The Practical Precision Riding Course
2. Lee Parks' Total Control Advanced Riding Clinic
Both of these courses go beyond the
Motorcycle Safety Foundation
(MSF) curriculum. These courses are for the rider who desires the next level of
riding. Prior completion of the the MSF experienced rider course is highly
recommended but not mandatory.
The Courses
Practical Precision Riding Course

The Practical Precision Riding Course (PPRC) is for the advanced street rider.
Students will learn the necessary skills and dynamics of motorcycle control.
This is a slow speed school designed to improve parking lot type of maneuvers,
motorcycle placement and slow speed control and confidence.
The PPRC is a full day of intensive training.
All instruction is conducted on the range and will begin at 8:00 a.m. and end
at approximately 5:30 p.m., with an hour lunch break. Specialized group classes
are available - contact us for pricing. The classes are small and the instructors
work with individual students making sure they understand and demonstrate their
competency before moving on the the next skill.
This type of training is available in only a very few locations around the
country (unless you happen to be a police officer!). Once you acquire these
skills, you'll wonder how you ever managed without them. The course is hard
work but exciting and a great deal of fun; a learning experience that will
totally transform your motorcycle riding. Note that the course exercises can be
physically demanding and students should expect to feel some aches and pains by
the end of the day!
Those who complete the course will receive a certificate of completion. All who
take the course will benefit from a new level of safety and confidence in their
riding ability.
The cost is $165 for a full day of training.
Lee Parks' Total Control Advanced Riding Clinic

In today's age of high-horsepower superbikes, large-displacement cruisers
and super-heavy-weight touring bikes, riding skills are more important than
ever for safe, fun motorcycling. Unfortunately for experienced riders, there
is a large gap between the Motorcycle Safety Foundations Experienced
RiderCourse (ERC) and many racetrack schools around the country.
Experience has shown after introducing thousands of new motorcyclists to the
sport and fun of motorcycling, that many of these students return and ask where
they can go to further improve their skills on their motorcycle. These riders
are interested in improving their skills, but don’t want to take on additional
risks associated with high-speed environments such as going to the track. If you
are one of those interested riders, then you’re not alone.
Fortunately, the
Lee Parks' Total Control Advanced Riding Clinic (Total Control ARC)
has a solution for those experienced riders caught in the middle, as well as those
track-day junkies and racers who want to be able to further enhance their skills
in a controlled environment with expert instruction.
AMRC is the first training facility in Northeast Florida to provide the Total Control
Advanced Riding Clinic. Our classes are held monthly at Green Cove Springs, FL.
Cornering technique is the primary focus of the Total Control ARC. Individual skills
include corner entry, line selection, body position and corner exit. There are slightly
different versions of these depending on the type of bike ridden, but all follow the same
philosophical principals that are taught in the course. Throttle control and throttle/brake
transitions are also covered in great detail. Additionally, super-tight, low-speed,
"parking lot" turns are taught.
The course is based on Lee Parks' book "Total Control" which is available for $26.95
plus $4.95 shipping.
The Total Control ARC is committed to making you a better and safer rider and in doing so makes
these promises:
- Specific, measurable improvement in your riding. No matter what skill level you
are now, the Total Control ARC will make a recognizable difference in your ability to control
your bike.
- Better understanding of how your bike works. How what you do affects your bike's
ability to maintain traction and control.
- The ability to self-diagnose riding problems in the future. While it's great to be
able to ride better in front of a skilled coach, it's equally important to be able to coach
yourself when you detect a riding problem in the future. There are enough support materials in
our package to help make sure you won't forget what you learned during your training.
- High teacher-to-student ratio. Each class is divided in groups with never more than
six students per instructor for lots of individual attention and support.
- Friendly, professional service. The Total Control ARC instructors are highly trained
and carefully handpicked for their teaching abilities and friendly dispositions. Your experience
at the Total Control ARC will be a positive one.
The cost is $295 for a full day of training.
Requirements
Each student will bring their own motorcycle.
Protective riding gear is required during the range exercises. Protective gear includes:
- a riding jacket (or mesh jacket)
- riding pants (leather chaps or mesh pants are OK)
- full gloves (fingerless gloves are not allowed)
- boots that cover the ankle
- a DOT approved helmet (full faced helmet is recommended but not required)
- eye protection
Jeans are allowed for the Practical Precision Riding Course but are NOT allowed for the
Total Control Advinced Riding Clinic (but Kevlar jeans will be accepted). DOT race compound
tires are not allowed because they will not get hot enough during the class to maintain traction.
Students will be provided with rubber hose to protect their bikes. Windshields and bags may be
removed at the student's discretion. Participants must show registration and proof of insurance.
